Going Home!

Sherman has found his furever home!  It was such an honor to have helped him in his transition and to see the great dog he is.  Congratulations to his new parents and good job Fluffy Dog Rescue for saving him.

Super Sherman

Sherman has just been showing his stuff this week.  He is just getting to be so brave, we have taken walks down busy streets without any tail down time.  Cars - shmars, they are not so scary --- and tonight we even went by the skate board park with lots of skate boarders and he was fine.  Not only is his tail up on the walks but he is happy to lead the way.  What a big brave boy.

He has continued to come out of his shell with us too.  He plays with Jasmine, but now when she has had enough, he will engage in a little chasing game with me.  He is just so happy, and when he plays his eyes shine and you can see he is smiling.  He gives the toys a toss and chases himself around when he is feeling too silly.  oh my...the other big change is that he now seeks pets and rubs.  And of course he remains adorable.  I will try to get some new pictures up soon.

Northwoods Adventure

It is tiring being soooo handsome
Sherman had another adventure this weekend.  We were off to our cottage "up north".  It took him a bit to get used to all the new sights and sounds but once he did, all was well.  We all enjoyed our walks in the woods and some beach time.  He met the neighbors black lab and listened to the loons. A little cold for too much playing in the water (46 degrees this morning --brrr).  Here are some pictures from the beach.  He is one handsome beach guy.....He was fond of the snail shells, and would carry them so delicately so as to not break them - then he would trade them in for a treat or a pet.  Escargot anyone?  What a sweet boy -

Sherman's new adventures

 Sherman continues to be such a good dog.  We really can't believe how much he has changed in just two weeks.  He has taken a trip to central Wisconsin to visit my parents where he was a perfect house guest and traveled well, been out and about in the neighborhood meeting new friends, played with Jasmine, had his first bath with us, and even went to a chicken dinner and band concert.  Wow - that almost makes me tired.  Here are some pictures from the adventures.

New squeaker toy from his foster Grandma - Squeaking is good.

Out and about in the neighborhood
Treat and chew time!

He Plays!

Oh where is my camera when I need it?

Sherman and Jasmine had there first real play session.  It all started with Sherman having his first case of zoomies - chasing himself around the backyard.  Well - Jasmine had to join in in the fun and pretty soon they were exchanging play chases complete with play bows and starts and stops.  It is so amazing and so fun to see.  Now they are both resting peacefully with tongues out.  Yahoo!

July 18

The more time we spend with Sherman, the more good things there are to say.  I know, I’ve said this before but he is such a good boy.  He is just an open book waiting to see what his next chapter will bring.  He has so many good manners – we haven’t had any problem feeding Sherman and his doggie foster sister  together or giving them both treats (no resource guarding);

Did you call me?
he meets other dogs quietly and politely;
he doesn’t jump up on people or furniture;
no counter surfing, although he is interested in what is going on in the kitchen;
he doesn’t mark;
goes potty outside;
comes running with tail wagging when you call him;
will sit for a treat; waits by the door to get in and out; walks well on a leash – and –
 of course, he is also adorable.

A kiss for Jasmine
He will now, meet your gaze and give a few kisses – he even had some for Jasmine.

He has been out meeting the neighbors and doing great.

Did I mention adorable?

 I know this may sound like I’m a gushing foster mom - but he deserves to be gushed about.  We are so lucky to be able to help him on his journey.

Sherman has a silly side

This afternoon when I got home from work, I was treated to the first belly rub Sherman has offered up!  Yeah!
We then went out for a short walk around the block with his foster sister Jasmine, who loves to roll in the grass.  Jasmine found a fresh lawn and started doing her roll, and pretty soon there was Sherman right next to her on the neighbors lawn.  He did more of a roll and army crawl but it was sure a funny sight to see and some of his first playfulness coming out.  I will have to learn to bring along the camera.
